This is (actually) new.
Over the past several years, the industry has transitioned to increasingly smaller LED lamps for increasingly higher resolutions for indoor displays. Imagine a quarter-million or more teeny-tiny lamps squeezed into a single square meter of display.
The same plastic contrast shields that improve the appearance of most every display have also shrunk to match. And much of their double-duty ability to offer some physical protection from casual contact with those lamps has vanished.
Enter 'Module Glue On Board'.One popular solution is to replace the shields with an acrylic bath that creates a smooth hard finish that can be wiped down with a cloth and protects the lamps from impact.
Desay has offered this GOB treatment on pixel densities of 1.5 to 2.9 millimeters since the technology was developed, and added a further improvement with proprietary technology that allowed for the in-house repair and replacement of a single faulty lamp in a module.
This approach limits waste and expense, as modules are returned to service rather than being discarded.
Introducing 'Lamp GOB'.The Film Industry has increasingly turned to LED walls as a replacement for green screens or even location shoots.
Direct lighting on the set can be picked up by smooth surfaces. And the last thing you want on your simulated moonscape is the halo of a spotlight.
The popular AV blog Sixteen:Nine thought enough of Lamp GOB technology to write this article about Desay's Lamp GOB technology.
Desay Series TVB
Our default choice for indoor displays is the 2022 Desay Series TVB in an elegant die-cast aluminum panel that weighs less than 6 kilograms with XY dimensions that measure 600 x 337.5 millimeters to create perfect 4:3 and 16:9 displays.
The Series TVB can fill out wall displays with a choice of direct-to-wall or low profile frames for easy installation. Magnetic front access allows for efficient power and data cabling between adjacent panels.
We can equip the Desay Series TVB with upgraded NovaStar A10s Pro receiver cards which provides for equipping the TVB with the new NovaStar VMP or Vision Management Platform control software and a NovaStar MX40 LED display controller.
Or for less demanding displays, we can offer very affordable NovaStar VX controllers.
PixelsPixel-to-pixel spacing begins at an impressive 0.781 millimeters to create fine-pixel display resolutions of over 1,600,000 LED lamps/m². Each millimeter of spacing supports one meter of viewing distance which means that the Series TVB will look great from less than 1 step away.
DimensionsThe Series TVB is an advanced aluminum panel that weighs under 6 kilograms with XYZ dimensions of 600/300 × 337.5 × 75 millimeters. Boomers can convert those numbers to the 1825 Exchequer Standards for dimensions of 24/12 × 13 × 1.5 inches and a featherweight 13 pounds.
ViewingDisplay panel brightness ranges from 500 cd/m² to 1000 cd/m². Screen refresh rates are set at up to 3840 Hz for camera-ready video. An outstanding 160° off-axis viewing means that pretty much everyone in the audience can see the Series TVB whether coming or going.
PerformanceRedn * Greenn * Bluen creates more color combinations than our eyes can see, plus an abundance of silky smooth shades of grey. Display life is projected to be 100,000 hours or about 11 years of full-time use.
Which means we look forward to hearing from you again in 2033.
Rated power consumption is a low 192 W/m² to 290 W/m² and up to 830 W/m² on full load depending on the specifications of the model. Variable voltage power units accept 100V ~ 240V. Our technicians will provide an electrical schematic specific to your project on request.
InstallationThe Series TVB is designed to look just as aesthetically-pleasing from the back as it does from the front. A -2° to 6° arc can be specified within the panel to create perfect gentle curves. Set the TVB onto a showcase wall or roll it out on wheels for your next important Zoom meeting.
